The concept of a limit is the fundamental concept of calculus and analysis. CONTINUITY of Function of One Variable. The following problems involve the CONTINUITY OF A FUNCTION OF ONE VARIABLE. Function y = f(x) is continuous at point x=a if the following three conditions are satisfied : i.) Differentiability - A function is differentiable at a point when there's a defined derivative at that point. This means that the slope of the tangent line of the points from the left is approaching the same value as the slope of the tangent of the points from the right.
